Qatar Airways requires passengers travelling from specific airports in India have to present a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR medical test result when checking in. 

Test Results must be issued within 72 hours before departure, from laboratories that are approved by Qatar Airways.  

Without the medical test certificate alongside a consent form will not be permitted to travel on Qatar Airways flights. Children below the age of 12 years are exempt from this test if accompanied by family members that have presented a negative test result.

The Directorate Generl of Civil Aviation (DGCA0 has launched an application called Kuwait Traveler which need to be Download, Register and Used by all Departing and Arriving Passengers in Kuwait. 

Effective 1st August 2020, all passengers arriving to and departing from Kuwait International Airport are required to register their flight details on “Kuwait-Mosafer” 96 hours prior to their flight.

How to Sign In or Register in Kuwait Mosafer?

To Login Enter your E-Mail Address and Password and click on Login. To Register Click on Create Account.
After clicking Create Account Enter First Name, Last Name, Mobile Number, E-Mail, Password and click on Register.
Once Register Online. Sign In to the account and you can add your flight by clicking on Add Flight.
Select Arrival to Kuwait or Departure from Kuwit and Enter your Flight Date, Select your Airline from the Drop Down List, Enter Flight Number and click on Next to add your Flight.

Thursday, July 23, 2020 - Waiver of visa Fines for Visa Expired Indian Nationals in UAE

Indian Residents whose visas have expired before 1st March 2020 can avail for fine waiver scheme which was announced by the Government of UAE for all foreign residents in UAE whose visas have either expired before 1st March 2020 or whose stay has not been regularized in the country as on date.

This fee waiver is valid till 17th August 2020. Visa expired residents are permitted to leave the country without making any payment of fines for the period.  All such cases are to be approved by the UAE authorities and to be coordinated through the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi (for people residing in Emirate of Abu Dhabi/visa issued from Abu Dhabi) and through Consulate General of India in Dubai (for  people residing or visa issued from Dubai and Northern Emirates of Sharjah, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman).

Inorder to avail this facility concerned persons need to send  an application including their passport details, local contact number, email address, visa copy etc with supporting documents to (for Abu Dhabi cases) and (for Dubai and Northern Emirates Cases). 

It should be sent at least 7 working days before the intended date of travel  to India.

If people are not able to scan or send documents by email then they can drop their applications in the drop boxes outside Embassy / Consulate for this purpose along with the application, Copy of passport (first, last and visa page) and phone number etc. In case of visit visa, a copy of the visa should also be enclosed.

If any person do not have a Passport they can approach the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Indian Consulate in Dubai for issuance of a Passport / Emergency certificate before applying for the visa fine waiver. 

It may be noted that once the EC is issued, the passport is automatically canceled in the system and cannot be used. 

A person traveling on an Emergency Certificate would need to apply for a fresh passport only upon arrival in India.

Embassy / Consulate will forward the documents to the concerned UAE authorities at the earliest and will inform the concerned persons by phone / email once their request of waiver / visa fines are approved by UAE authorities. This will take at least 5 working days. After which they should leave the country at the earliest possible.

Qatar Visitors and Residents can now apply for Exceptional Entry Permit who are currently stuck abroad due to COVID 19. Applications can be submitted starting 1st August 2020.

This service allows employers, whether individuals or companies, government or private sectors, to submit an application via Qatar Portal to enable Qatar residents to enter the State of Qatar.

It is a temporary service that is provided to residents of the State of Qatar who are unable to return to the country because of the restrictions imposed due to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

How to Apply Online for Exceptional Entry Permit?

  • Fill the required information correctly and completely as shown in passport.

Terms and Conditions

The Permit:

Employer may apply for an "exceptional entry permit" for Qatar residents.

Application for Entry permit can be submitted online from 1st August 2020.

Exceptional Entry Permit service is available for residents, family members and Visitors.

If the resident, to whom an entry permit has been issued, is outside the country, entry permits are issued for respective family members automatically.

The validity of the entry permit is one month from the date of its issuance. In the event of expiration, a new application can be submitted.

The holder of the permit must download the EHTERAZ application upon arrival.

In the event the resident is coming from a low-risk country, evidence of residence in that country for 72 hours or more must be attached to the application.

The competent authorities reserve the right to accept or reject the permit application in accordance with the conditions and requirements of issuing the permits.

The applicant must acknowledge that all data and information stated in the entry permit application are correct. 

If any discrepancy or misinformation is proved, legal liabilities for the same will apply, in accordance with the regulations and laws of the State of Qatar.

People coming from low-risk countries should:

Conduct COVID 19 Test in an approved hospital (if any) within a period not exceeding 48 hours from the date of departure, and submit a hard copy of the examination certificate upon arrival. (Click here to view the list of accredited hospitals)

In the case the COVID test is not conducted in the departure country, the test will be conducted at the airport upon arrival.

The applicant must upload proof of staying in a low-risk country for 72 hours or more. If the expatriate resides less than 72 hours in a low-risk country, they will be considered as coming from other countries (not low-risk) and will be treated accordingly.

Note: The permit will be automatically canceled if there is discrepancy in the entered data of the country of departure.

Clinical trials of the world’s first phase 3 Covid 19 inactive vaccine trials in the UAE is conducted by Abu Dhabi-based G42 Healthcare, in coordination with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company [SEHA], Ministry of Health and Prevention and Chinese pharmaceutical major Sinopharm under the supervision of Department of Health Abu Dhabi.

Eligibility to become Volunteer:
  • UAE resident
  • Between 18 years - 60 years of age
  • Medical history to be checked to ensure you can participate.

The Phase III clinical trials will test up to 15,000 volunteers including men and women, between 18 – 60 years of age, of mixed nationalities.

The complete process of clinical trials for vaccine testing, known as clinical development, follows four stages.

Pre-trial, which is conducted on animals;

Phase I, during which small groups of people receive the trial vaccine;

Phase II, where the clinical study is expanded, and the vaccine is administered to people who have particular characteristics (such as age and physical health) similar to those for whom the new vaccine is intended;

Phase III, where the vaccine is administered to thousands of people and tested for efficacy and safety.

The trials should be completed in 6 to 8 months

The vaccine being tested in the UAE is made from an inactivated form of the Covid-19 virus developed by Sinopharm.

Volunteers may, in some cases, experience short-term side-effects, similar to those from any vaccination, such as arm soreness or feeling tired or unwell. 

Each volunteer will be provided with a care package to understand the process and potential side-effects that may occur. This will also be discussed individually.

For Indian Passport Services in BLS International Service Centre, one has to Book Appointment prior to visiting the Centre. 

Applicants are advised to visit the BLS Centres with original Passports. The rest of the work like Form Filling, Taking Photo, etc will be done at BLS Centres. 

Only applicants are allowed inside the centre. 

Parents need to accompany applicants aged below 18 years. Click here to book your appointment. 

Applicants have to recheck all the details of their Passport (Name, Passport Number etc.) before confirming appointment, these details cannot be modified once saved and you may have to cancel the appointment if the details are incorrect.

One slot can be booked per passport

Seniors above 60 years and pregnant woman, through an authorization letter, can authorize family members or close relatives to submit the passport application form along with relevant documents on their behalf.

Kuwait Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has launched a Mobile Phone Application for Civil ID using which citizens and residents can carry their Civil ID on their smartphone. 

Civil ID users in Kuwait can now carry their Civil ID in their Mobile Phone using this app. They have to download the app ‘Kuwait Mobile ID’ on their Smartphone and need to Register. This app is available on iPhones and Android devices. The application is available in English and Arabic.

This app is Free to Download. 

  • Must be a Citizen or Resident of Kuwait with a Valid visa.
  • Have a previously issued smart civil ID that is valid for a minimum of one month.

How to Register for Kuwait mobile ID
  • Download the Kuwait Mobile ID app for iPhone or for Android
  • Register using your Civil ID number, Serial number, and Passport number.
  • Take a selfie.
  • Complete the registration process. 
  • If everything is accepted, your civil ID will now be on your mobile phone.
